Most of the organizations listed below are entirely independent. A few are offshoots of other organizations, so “independent” should not be taken as absolute for all of them. Nevertheless, the organizations listed here are mostly Indiana products and embody Indiana activists’ political preferences.

Hoosier Action has worked (using “relational organizing”) with voters in rural and small-town Southern Indiana since 2017. They have engaged extensively in door-to-door canvassing, phone calling, social media posting, and peer-to-peer texting. During the 2020 elections, Hoosier Action’s #EverybodyIn Turnout 2020 campaign mobilized people to call and text their friends and neighbors. Their campaign generated almost 600,000 calls and texts. Engaging friends and neighbors in this way is the essence of “relational organizing,” and it is an extremely effective way to get people to the polls. Hoosier Action’s 2022 midterm organizing plans, when announced, are certainly going to employ relational organizing methods, and likely at a significant scale. They engage volunteers for their work area-by-area, and you can identify and contact the organizers responsible for several counties.
